List of Arizona state parks

This is a list of state parks in the U.S. state of Arizona.

Since the year 2009, and continued in 2010 Arizona has to close some parks for lack of money. The areas are no longer accessible to the public. It was originally planned to shut down the majority, through cooperation with local governments, business associations and several counties threatened by closure parks could be secured at least for some years. The information in the list as at 28 October 2010.

  • Dead Horse Ranch State Park
  • Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area
  • Fort Verde State Historic Park ( closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, for 2010 sponsorship was taken over by the City Camp Verde)
  • Homolovi Ruins State Park ( closed since February 22, 2010, reopening in cooperation with the people of the Hopi in preparation)
  • Jerome State Historic Park ( temporarily closed since October 14, 2010 re-opened five days a week )
  • Kartchner Caverns State Park
  • Lake Havasu State Park
  • Lyman Lake State Park
  • McFarland State Historic Park ( closed for renovation since 2009)
  • Oracle State Park ( closed to the public since April 26, 2009, Special opening for school groups by appointment)
  • Patagonia Lake State Park
  • Picacho Peak State Park
  • Red Rock State Park
  • Riordan Mansion State Historic Park ( funding from 2010 for three years by the Arizona Historical Society secured )
  • Roper Lake State Park
  • San Raphael State Natural Area ( released owned by the state since 1999, previously to the public)
  • Slide Rock State Park
  • Sonoita Creek Natural Area ( unit dependent )
  • Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park ( closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, sponsorship over from 2010 for three years by the town of Tombstone )
  • Tonto Natural Bridge State Park ( funding until September 27, 2010 secured )
  • Tubac Presidio State Historic Park ( closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, sponsorship for 2010 by Santa Cruz County accepted)
  • Verde River Greenway State Natural Area ( unit dependent )
  • Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park ( unit dependent )
  • Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park (sponsor taken from 2010 for three years by the City of Yuma )
