List of Chinese administrative divisions by population

Listed are all the 22 provinces, four directly administered cities, five autonomous regions, and the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China, listed according to their population. Taiwan is excluded. Also not included are Kinmen and Matsu, the Islands, which belong to the province of Fujian, but not under the control of the PRC.
