List of cities and towns in Colorado

The community forms Colorados are different federal statutes set five, after which manage the 271 incorporated municipalities in the U.S. state of Colorado.

The law makes Colorado's relatively small distinctions between a city and a town. Only Denver and Broomfield have local governments are united in the County and City to a corporation:

Home Rule Municipality

Colorado has 59 citys and 28 Towns, which are order to set a Home Rule Municipality.

  • Colorado's Home Rule municipalitys are self-governing under Article XX of the Constitution of Colorado, Title 31, Article 1, Section 202 of the Statutes of Colorado and the Home Rule Charter of the respective municipality. This home rule charter shall determine the form of government. In Colorado can decide for themselves if they adopt the form of a City or Town a Home Rule Municipality.

Statutory City

Colorado has 14 places that are constituted as a Statutory City's:

  • Statutory citys in Colorado under Title 31, Article 1, Section 203 and Article 4, section 100 or section 200 of the Constitution of Colorado have an elected mayor and a city council, which is composed of the mayor and two members of each constituency. One such place may request that he 200 a Statutory City with an appointed City Manager and City Council with a two members per constituency and another chosen by the totality Member is governed within the meaning of the section. Georgetown is the only surviving settlement in Colorado, which is statuiert still under the provisions of the Charter of the Colorado Territory:

  • The Town of Georgetown is subject to the provisions of Article XIV, Section 13 of the Charter and Constitution of the Colorado Territory. The Mayor is designated as Police Judge and the city council is formed by a board of selectmen.
