Litany of Re

When the Litany Litany of Ra or is in Egyptology called a religious text and images cycle, which can be found attached as decoration in royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. The litany consists of two parts. There is first 75 invocations to the sun god Re. They all start with praise to you, O Re, thou art high in power. The litany is illustrated in the second part with 74 manifestations of God.

The oldest evidence for this text can be found in the grave of the vizier Useramun and the grave of King Thutmose III. Since Seti I, the Litany is a standard program of almost all Egyptian royal tombs.
