Little Missouri State Park

The Little Missouri State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of North Dakota. The park is located 27 km north of Killdeer on Highway 22, the 1858 -acre park is located in the badlands of North Dakota, a rough, created by erosion from wind and water landscape with mountain cones, plateaus, canyons and crevices. In the north of the park is the Little Missouri River has carved a 150 meter deep gorge from which it flows into Lake Sakakawea. The Sioux called the area Mako Shika, what Where the land means to break.

Nature

In the park mule deer, coyotes, bobcats, and golden eagles occur. In the arid badlands only sage, yucca and cacti grow.

Tourist Facilities

The park has a campsite with horses gates for visitors. The park is crossed about 120 kilometers paths, however, may only be used by riders or walkers.
