Liu Xianying

Liu Xianying (Chinese刘显英, Pinyin Liú Xianying, born July 8, 1977 in Ji'an, Jilin ) is a Chinese biathlete. She has specialized in the pursuit and the mass start.

Liu began in 1991 with the Biathlon and belongs since 1996 to the Chinese national team. The living in Dalian, married sports soldier is trained by Wang Weiyi and Klaus Siebert and starts for Army ski. She made her debut in 1997 at the World Cup in Nagano. In the first race she finished 48th in the sprint. With the season they came in the following race in a surprising third place and thus for the first time to the podium. 2003 Kontiolahti she came for the first time in a single race among the top 10 (ranked 9 in sprint ). Their best finish was a second place in the chase in the World Cup from Ruhpolding 2005. Was the overall World Cup in season 2004/ 05 Sixth, 2003/ 04 16 and 2005/ 06 19

1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 took Liu participate in the Olympics. In 1998, she was inducted into Nagano only in the relay, 2002 in Salt Lake City also in singles and Sprint. In Turin 2006, she competed in all five races and came in the sprint to a 11, in pursuit of a ninth in the mass start and a 7th place. In 2010 Vancouver was a 20th place in the individual their best result. Since 2000 she has participated in all World Championships. Particularly successful she was in Hochfilzen, where she won silver in the pursuit behind Uschi Disl 2005. There were a fourth place in the mass start and a fifth place in the sprint.
