Live in Reykjavik is a live album by the industrial band Psychic TV, which in 1987 appeared on the group's own label Temple Records. The album has since become one Industrial classics.

Music style

The album contains live recordings from a concert in Reykjavik, Iceland in November 1983. The album Psychic TV show of its ritual side, the music is a somber -looking collage of tape loops, percussion and distorted industrial soundscape. To sound even the Icelanders Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson contributes, einspielt the Edda recitations Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson. Guðlaugur Kristinn Óttarsson worked through a "P -Meter" said Sample technology by means of which he was heading, for example, bell tones over voice signal from the distance to the recordings. The individual tracks on the album are interrupted by several short recordings with original sound of a pagan Asatru - Taufrituals.

Publications

The live recordings from Reykjavík first appeared in an edition of 2300 copies in Iceland in 1984 under the title Those Who Do Not initially as a double LP. With a limited edition of 5000 copies, the slimmed down to a LP recordings were released under the title Live in Reykjavik on 23 March 1987 as the fifth of a planned series of 23 live albums the band on their own label, Temple Records. The first nine albums in the Live series each contained a voucher called partial piece of a skull motif, against the complete submission of the tenth LP series, which was Picture Disc Psychedelic Violence, available. The series was not completed at the planned level.

Live in Reykjavik was reissued on CD several times ( also titled Those Who Do Not). At the time of its appearance the album has hardly produced any significant resonance due to the small first editions and because of the inflationary mass on mass releases of the band in almost a monthly basis. In the retrospective of the previous work as a whole the book presents Live in Reykjavik, however, an important landmark of the imprinted by their genres dar.
