Liveris Andritsos

Liveris Andritsos (Greek Λιβέρης Ανδρίτσος; born December 31, 1959 in Athens ) is a retired Greek professional basketball player and coach.

Career

Andritsos began his professional career in 1978 at Espero Kallithea where he was active for four years. In 1982 he moved to Greek club Panathinaikos Athens tradition where he won the national league championship trophy next to a well twice. During his career in late 1991, he was the most successful player in the history of the A1 Ethniki with 2,088 points scored Athens.

National

His debut with the Greek national team was Andritsos on 7 June 1978 during a friendly match against Albania. In the following 13 years Andritsos was an integral part of the Greek selection and participated, among others, five European Championships and one World Championship. The greatest success during this period was the 1987 European Championship on home soil. In addition to players like Nikos Galis and Panagiotis Giannakis he could sensational win the first gold medal for Greece in this competition. Another mean success in the same competition in 1989 he was recorded by winning the silver medal. Already in 1979 he won the gold medal with Greece in the Mediterranean Championships. His last game was Andritsos on 28 June 1991 with a 110-83 victory over the Bulgarian selection.
