Lizzy Yarnold

Elizabeth " Lizzie " Yarnold (born 30 October 1988) is a British skeleton athlete.

Lizzie Yarnold played their first international race to kick off the 2010/11 season in the European Cup skeleton. In her first race in November 2010 in Cesana she went as a tithe immediately placed in the top ten. A day later she was at the same place already fifth. The final breakthrough came in the next two races in Igls, which she won in front of their country women McGrandle Rose and Laura Deas. Also at the next race in Winterberg, it reached a podium with third place behind Deas and McGrandle. At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Park City, she won the silver medal behind Robynne Thompson. In the season - Rating FIS they came on the 35th place. In the season 2011/12 they started in Skeleton Intercontinental and immediately won her first two races in Lillehammer. A further three podium finishes followed in four races. Middle of January 2012 gave Yarnold in Koenigssee her debut in the Skeleton World Cup. The first race she finished 14th at the second race on the natural ice rink of St. Moritz they won in spite of adverse weather conditions. At the 2012 World Championships in Lake Placid she reached the bronze medal in the individual competition. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014, she was Olympic champion.
