Lloyd Bochner

Lloyd Bochner ( born July 29, 1924 in Toronto, Ontario, † October 29, 2005 in Santa Monica, California ) was a Canadian actor.

Lloyd Bochner, a trained in classical acting career performer, played in his 50 -year career, the smart hero and villains in theater, television and film. He became known through the television series The Twilight Zone (1959-1964) and as Cecil Colby in the television series Dynasty ( Dynasty ).

Life

Bochner was already engaged with eleven years as a radio presenter in Ontario. These were followed by theater and film roles. He was awarded early with two Liberty Awards, Canada's highest acting award.

In 1951 he moved to New York in 1960 to Los Angeles. He had great success with the series Hong Kong. In 1963, he was with the episode To Serve Man from the television series The Twilight Zone U.S. widely known. This series is still at number 11 of the 100 biggest TV movies of all time in the U.S..

Later, he starred in the feature films The Detective and Tony Rome on the side of Frank Sinatra, as well as in He came only at night with Barbara Stanwyck. This was followed by the films The Man in the Glass Booth, Point Blank with Lee Marvin and The Naked Gun 2 ½: The Smell of Fear ( The Naked Gun 2 ½).

His TV appearances included roles in the series Columbo, Mission: Impossible, McCloud, Golden Girls, Wild, Wild West, Battlestar Galactica and Designing Women, as well as in Dynasty.

In 1998 he was co-founder of the campaign against violence in film and television. Bochner was also a committed member of the Association of Canadian Radio and Television Artists.

Lloyd Bochner was married to Ruth Bochner. The marriage produced three children, including the actor Hart Bochner.
