Lobaye

Lobaye is a prefecture of the Central African Republic, with its capital Mbaiki.

Geography

The prefecture is located in the southwest of the country, bordered to the north by the Prefecture Ombella - Mpoko, to the south by the Republic of Congo, in the northwest of the prefecture Mambéré - Kadéï, on the southwest by the Prefecture Sangha Mbaéré and on the east by the Democratic Republic of Congo. For irrigation of the surrounding fields of Boukokodamm was built.

In the prefecture in 1977 established Biosphere Reserve Lower Lobaye that protects a tropical rain forest on an area of ​​18,200 ha.
