Loïck Peyron

Loick Peyron ( born December 1, 1959 in Nantes ) is a French sailor. He has won numerous races, including three solo transatlantic race.

Loick Peyron is the younger brother of the yachtsman Bruno Peyron and Stéphane Peyron. With the trimaran Fujicolor, he won in the 1990's many successes, including winning four times the ORMA World Cup ( Ocean Racing Multihull Association). 1999 and 2005 won the Transat Jacques Vabre, the Peyron. In April 2006 he took over as head of the Gitana Team from the Swiss banker Benjamin de Rothschild. With the Open 60 yacht Gitana Eighty, he won the 2008 Transat. In 2010, Peyron participated as co-skipper of Alinghi Alinghi 5 on the 33rd America 's Cup. With his team he put on 6 January 2012 with the trimaran " Banque Populaire V " in the Jules Verne Trophy with 45 days and 13 hours setting a new record.
