Lomme (river)

Belgium Lesse and Lomme

The Lomme (also Lhomme or L' Homme ) is a 46 km long river in southeastern Belgium Ardennes.

It rises near the village of Bras in the north of the parish Libramont in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, flows through Smuid, Mirwart, Grupont, Lesterny, prosperous era, Jemelle and Rochefort, and finally flows into the bottom section of the Lesse, 2 km after their exit from the Grotte de Han. The Lesse, a tributary of the Meuse, is less long and rich in water as this above the confluence with the Lomme.

Apart from the top and bottom barrel portion, the Lomme flows from south to north. Here the railway line Namur - Luxembourg is 24 km long through their valley. Large parts of this wooded valley are free of car traffic. Due to its richness in fish the Lomme is a popular destination for anglers.
