Geography

It rises in the south-eastern Ardennes in Ochamps on its border with Libramont. The top left tributary Our (mostly municipal area of ​​Paliseul ) should not be confused with the eponymous German -Belgian- Luxembourg border river and opens opposite the village Lesse (municipality Libin ). Between Belvaux and Han -sur -Lesse Lesse flows through the cave system of the Grotte de Han underground through the karst. About 2 km after its reemergence it takes its largest tributary, which Lomme, about as long as the upper reaches of the Lesse and the latter to discharge volume even surpassing. From Wanlin where the Biran opens up to its confluence with the Meuse, the Lesse meander has trained that have cut deep into the mountains in Houyet. The mouth is located in Anseremme, a southern district of the town of Dinant.

Attractions and leisure

The Valley of the Lesse and this part of the Ardennes are wooded. The area surrounding the caves is the Lesse et Lomme National Park. On the heights along the lower reaches are several castles.
