Lord Berners

Gerald Hugh Tyrwhitt -Wilson, 14th Baron Berners ( born September 16, 1882 in Apley Park at Birdgnorth in the county of Shropshire, † April 19, 1950 in Faringdon, Oxfordshire ) was an English composer, writer and painter. He was also known under the name Gerald Tyrwhitt, but is usually referred to as Lord Berners.

Life

His father was the Commodore Hugh Tyrwhitt, third son of Harriet Tyrwhitt, 12th Baroness Berners. The family comes from Sir John Bourchier, a grandson of King Edward III. , From.

Berners visited the famous Eton College and traveled to prepare for the diplomatic service in Dresden, Vienna, France and Italy. As Attaché Honorary he served in Constantinople Opel and Rome.
