Lorraine Desmarais

Lorraine Desmarais ( born August 15, 1956 in Montreal ) is a Canadian jazz pianist, composer and university teacher.

Desmarais acquired in 1979 the Master in classical piano at McGill University; In 1984 she studied with Kenny Barron in New York. Influenced by Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson began 1986/86 with its own trio occur. With Tiger Okoshi, who has worked on their debut album (1991 ), she performed at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal; In 1988, she played with Paquito D' Rivera.
