Geography

Location

The municipality is located in the extreme north of the Saarland in Saar- Hunsrück and thus also on the western edge of the Black Forest High Forest.

Climate

The annual rainfall is 918 mm and is in the upper third of the detected by the measuring points of the German Weather Service values ​​. About 79 % indicate lower values. Traffic

Losheim has several stations on the railway line the Merzig- Büschfelder railway to Merzig. It is currently operated in freight and tourist traffic.

The municipality is crossed by the B 268 ( Saarbruecken -Trier ) from south - east to north. This also forms bypassing the districts Losheim and Niederlosheim.
