Lossa (Unstrut)

The Lossa is a 43 km-long right tributary of the Unstrut in central Thuringia. The name is derived from the Indo-European, and include the word salmon.

Course

It rises on the western end of the area of the former municipality Lossa in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt. The source is located in the Finn, a mountain range of the Thuringian Basin. It flows initially to the south by Rastenberg, Mannstedt, then west through Guthmannshausen, Olbersleben, Großneuhausen and Frohsdorf.
