The Lottbek is a strongly meandering and semi-natural stream in Stormarn and Hamburg. It flows into the Bredenbek, which together with the Rodenbek and other smaller streams that melt water flow system in Rodenbeker Quellental forms as a left tributary of the Alster lake, which was formed in the Weichsel glaciation. Like most other rivers in Quellental also flows the Lottbek in east-west direction to the Alster.

Headwaters of Lottbek are the Moorbek and the series Deep trench. In the upper reaches of the Lottbek forms a small storage pond. Lottbek and Moorbek mark over several kilometers, the border between Hamburg and Schleswig -Holstein.

Due to flooding (as of 2006) is currently a diversion of the stream bed tested in the field in the district of Lottbek Ammersbek the Lottbek.

The Lottbek is eponymous for the district Lottbek the community Ammersbek on Hoisbüttel Metro Station and several roads and trails in this district and in Hamburg - Olhlstedt. From the nature reserve Heidkoppelmoor and environment downstream of the creek is accompanied by trails that runs out of Hamburg in the road in Lottbek continuously near the creek.
