Lou Hudson

Louis Clyde Hudson ( born July 11, 1944 in Greensboro, North Carolina ) is a retired American professional basketball player.

After three years at the University of Minnesota Lou Hudson was selected in the NBA Draft in 1966 ranked fourth by the St. Louis Hawks. For the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1968, he played the first eleven years of his NBA career. In the first year he was elected to the All- Rookie First Team. From 1969 to 1974, he was invited to six consecutive years to the All- Star Game. He was also elected to the All- NBA Second Team in 1972. In the first seven years with the Hawks, the team reached the playoffs every year, but never got beyond the Division Finals. In the last four years, the playoffs have been missed.

In 1977, he moved in exchange for Ollie Johnson to the Los Angeles Lakers. For the Lakers, he played another two years. In the first year, the team failed in the first round of the playoffs, the second year the second round was reached.

Overall, Hudson completed 890 games in the NBA, scoring 17,940 points.
