Louge

The Louge is a river in France, which runs in the Haute- Garonne, in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It rises on the plateau of Lannemezan, in the municipality of Villeneuve- Lécussan, drained generally northeast and flows for 100 kilometers in the city of Muret as a left tributary of the Garonne. Because it leads to droughts little water, it is - as most of the rivers on the plateau of Lannemezan - irrigated; in their case by the Canal de Saint- Martory and trench de la Louge, which in turn draws its water from the Canal de la Neste.

Even the water of the Louge itself is derived for irrigation through channels such as by the Canal de Franquevielle à Cardeilhac.
