Louis, Duke of Joyeuse

Louis de Lorraine - Guise (* January 11, 1622, † September 24, 1654 in Paris ), short even called Louis de Guise, was from 1647 to 1654 Duke of Joyeuse 1653-1654 Duke of Angoulême, and in 1654 the Prince of Joinville. He was the son of Charles de Lorraine, duc de Guise and his wife Henriette Catherine de Joyeuse.

1644 he took over the office of Grand Chapeau Rouge de France. 1647 received from his mother Joyeuse and the associated title of Duke - until then he was known as the Chevalier de Joyeuse - and Joinville in 1654. On November 3, 1649 he married Marie Françoise de Valois in Toulon (* 1631, † 1696 ), Duchess of Angoulême, daughter of Louis -Emmanuel de Valois and Henriette de La Guiche. His wife inherited the dukedom in 1653 Angoulême and La Guiche, he himself led the title de iure uxoris.

Louis de Lorraine and Françoise d' Angoulême had two children:
