Louis I, Count of Étampes

Ludwig ( * probably the beginning of 1336, † May 6, 1400 in Paris) was 1336 Count of Etampes and Gien, Seigneur de Dourdan et de Gallardón, d' Aubigny, de Beaufort, Ines de Sole et de Lunel, peer of France, M. de Lara and Titulargraf of Biscay. He was the eldest son of Charles of Evreux († 1336 ), Count of Etampes and peer of France, and Maria de La Cerda († 1379 ), and thus a cousin of King Charles II of Navarre.

On January 16, 1357 he married Joan of Eu ( Joan Eu), Lady of Château- Chinon, Dracy, Orover, Les Places, Beauche, Toussy, Huran and Hormes († July 6, 1389 in Sens ), daughter of Raoul I de Brienne, Count of Eu, Constable of France, and widow of Gautier VI. de Brienne, Duke of Athens, Constable of France (both out of the house Brienne ). The marriage remained childless.

In 1360 he was one of the four princes of the blood, which were provided as hostages to reaffirm the peace of Brétigny.
