Louis Secco

Louis John Secco ( born January 18, 1927 in Trail, British Columbia, † 27 October 2008) was a Canadian ice hockey player. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Louis Secco began his career as a hockey player with a number of youth teams in his home province of British Columbia. Then he joined in 1946 the Trail Smoke Eaters on seniors team. He remained there for five years before he was hired for the season 1951/52, from the Edmonton Mercurys. In the same season he also completed a game for the Kimberley dynamiters. With the Edmonton Mercurys in 1952, he represented Canada at the Olympic Winter Games. For the season 1952/53, he returned to the Trail Smoke Eaters. In the following years he also played two years for the trial Intermediates from the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association. In the season 1956/57, he was in 16 games for the Rossland Warriors on the ice. In the following season he played another five games for the Smoke Eaters before he ended his hockey career.

Internationally

For Canada Secco participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 in part in Oslo, where he won the gold medal with his team. In eight games, he scored two goals and three assists.
