Louis Teicher

Lou Teicher (Louis Milton Teicher, born August 24, 1924 in Wilkes -Barre, Pennsylvania; † August 3, 2008 in Highlands, North Carolina) was an American pianist.

Teicher occurred in the 1960s, together with pianist Arthur Ferrante & Teicher Ferrante on as. They were known for their floral interpretations of the theme songs of films like The Apartment, Exodus, West Side Story ( " Tonight" ) and Midnight Cowboy.

Both had attended the Juilliard School in New York City and later taught there. Their collaboration began in 1947, they were limited initially to classical music and some experimental pieces. After they were replaced with producer Don Costa ABC Records to United Artists, offered them this to play for the film The Apartment, and they were quickly crowd favorites. During her 50 years ongoing partnership they released over 150 albums and sold over 88 million records. They were also regular guests in the TV shows of Ed Sullivan, Johnny Carson and Dick Clark.
