Louise d'Aumont

Louise Félicité Victoire d' Aumont Mazarin ( born October 22, 1759 in Paris, † December 13, 1826 in Paris) was Princess of Monaco.

She was the daughter of Louis -Marie, Duke of Aumont (1732-1799) and his wife Louise -Jeanne de Durfort, Duchess of Mazarin ( 1735-1781 ). Its full title was Duchess of Aumont Mazarin, Mayenne and La Meilleraye, Countess of Ferrette, Belfort, Thann, Rosemont, Baroness of Altkirch, Princess of Château- Porcien, Marchioness of Chilly and Guiscard. As a descendant of Hortense Mancini, niece of Cardinal Mazarin, she inherited all her title when the male line died out. Later, these were transferred to the House Grimaldi.

On July 15, 1771, she married Prince Honoré, from 1814 Prince Honoré IV of Monaco.

The couple had two sons, who both followed their father as princes:

  • Prince Honoré V (1778-1841)
  • Prince Florestan (1785-1856)

In 1798, the couple divorced and she moved back to Paris. There she gave birth to two daughters to the world, the names of the fathers are unknown:

  • Amélie d' Aumont Célestine (* 1794)
  • Jeanne Marie d' Aumont († 1842)

1801 she married Rene Françcois Tirnand - d'Arcis.

Louise d' Aumont was born into one of the wealthiest families in France. Your assets she brought into the marriage with Honoré, got it but after the divorce back. During the French Revolution she was arrested and spent several years in prison. Your goods and their assets were confiscated after the Restoration they received (1825 ) of which only returns the goods not already sold.

She died on December 23, 1826 penniless in Paris, she was transferred to Monaco and buried in the Church of St. Nicholas, which stood on the site of the present cathedral Notre -Dame- Immaculée.
