Louka u Litvínova

Louka u Litvínova ( German meadow) is a town in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers south-east of Litvinov in northern Bohemia.

History

The town was mentioned in a document with the original name Wiese ( Wiza ) for the first time in 1289 as the property of the lords of Hrabischitz. 1398 the property was sold to the Margrave of Meissen in Saxony, who held it up to the Hussite Wars. After the wars, it fell to the Bohemian crown. Before industrialization primarily through mining agriculture and livestock was operated in the village.

The construction of the Semmering Railway Teplitz said railway to Moldova and on to the Freiberg site received 1884 railway connection in the year. Further plans to extend the Schweinitztalbahn to Wiesa and thus their connection to this railway line was finally shelved in 1931.
