Loukas Vyntra

Loukas Vyntra (Greek Λουκάς Βύντρα, born February 5, 1981 in Město Albrechtice, Czechoslovakia Lukáš Vydra ) is a Greek football player of Czech origin.

Career

The son of a Czech and a Greek started his professional career in 1999 in the Peloponnese at the club based in Pyrgos Paniliakos. After a brief interlude for the season 2000/ 01 the then third division Pontii Verias, Vyntra changed in January 2004 to Panathinaikos Athens with whom he won the Greek Championship and the Cup in the first year.

The considered only as a reserve player at his obligation Vyntra benefited in the summer of 2004 from the disposal of the hitherto undisputed Georgios Seitaridis of only a few weeks before the European crown in Portugal. While Vyntra was until then always be placed only on the position of central defender, he played from now on as Fullback, and has since become an integral part of Panathinaikos team. In the 2012/13 season Vyntra is captain of his team. Since January 2013, he plays for Spanish side Levante UD.

National

In addition to a regular place at Panathinaikos, Vyntra be played into the circle of the Greek national team and participated in the 2005 Confederations Cup, where it was used twice. In 2004 Vyntra part in the Olympic Games in Athens. Vyntra belonged also to the Greek squad for Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, where he was employed in the final group game against Spain.
