Lovehatetragedy is the second major-label album by Californian rock band Papa Roach, and was published on 18 June 2002.

Although the band could ultimately with this album the sales success of the previous album Infest not repeat, but still about 700,000 copies of Lovehatetragedy were alone in the United States sold. The band received gold records in the United States, Canada and the UK, and the album reached number two on the U.S. Billboard charts.

Stylistically, the band developed from the nu-metal -heavy predecessor towards alternative rock. So there are less rapped passages and more conventional rock song. Furthermore, put the singer of the band Jacoby Shaddix with release of the album his stage name Coby Dick on what the band gave a more mature image. Instead socially critical lyrics as yet on Infest, as indicated by the album title, more personal relationship stories in focus.

Reception

According to Conny shipbuilders from Rock Hard is Lovehatetragedy " organic, edgier and less catchy than the highly acclaimed predecessor. " Parts for Mithüpfen were " given way to a straighter guitar playing ." The reviewer awarded 7.5 out of ten.
