Lucille Bremer

Lucille Bremer ( born February 21, 1917 in Amsterdam, New York, † April 16, 1996 in La Jolla, California ) was an American actress.

Lucille Bremer began her career as a dancer at Radio City Music Hall in New York City at the age of only 16 years. A talent scout brought her to Hollywood and first film tests convinced MGM boss Louis B. Mayer to give her a contract. However, initial roles were slow to place. Arthur Freed struck in 1944 for the role of the older sister of Judy Garland in Meet Me in St. Louis before. She then played in several MGM musicals, but could not prevail as the star itself. Your first dramatic starring role outside of a musical, she played only in 1948, directed by Budd Boetticher in behind closed doors. However, this film was to be their last. She married in the same year and extended her contract with MGM not. Disappointed by her film career, she retired into private life and became the mother of four children.
