Lucy Christopher

Lucy Christopher (* 1981 in Wales ) is a British-Australian writer.

Life

Christopher grew up in Wales. At the age of nine she moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia. There she went to school and studied at the University of Melbourne. After graduating she moved back to Wales, where she studied creative writing at the University of Bath Spa and a Master of Arts and a PhD awarded in Creative Writing. She is now employed as a sessional lecturer at the University of Bath Spa. As part of its promotional debut novel Stolen arose. Stolen Medal was for the Carnegie nominated and won the Branford Boase Award 2010. Moreover, won the Book of the Australian Gold Inky Award and was for the Australian Prime Minister's Literary Awards as well as the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year for Older Readers nominated. 2011 received the book award Honor Book of the Michael L. Printz Award. Her second book Flyaway was nominated for the Costa Book Award in 2010, the Waterstones Prize and the Carnegie Medal.
