Lucy Kaplansky

Lucy Kaplansky ( born February 2, 1960 in Chicago) is an American singer and musician ( singer-songwriter ).

Their music can be associated with the genres of folk, pop and country.

Biography

Lucy Kaplansky is from Chicago, but began her musical career in New York in the scene to Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin and many others. She interrupted her musical career to study psychology, which she graduated with a doctorate. Some time after that, she worked as a psychologist in a hospital and also maintained a practice. Also during this time, she worked with other musicians continue. Only in 1994 she launched her solo career as a musician.

She is the daughter of the mathematician Irving Kaplansky.
