Ludwig Baumann

Ludwig Franz Xaver Baumann ( born 1950 in Rosenheim ) is a German opera singer (bass - baritone) and since 1997 the initiator and director of the " Opera Festival Good Immling Chiemgau " on Good Immling in Halfing.

Life

Ludwig Baumann grew up on a farm with many animals, what his love for animals and coined from the beginning especially for horses.

After leaving school, he studied singing at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich. After graduating, he had firm commitments in Los Angeles and Rome, as well as at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, in Dusseldorf, Coburg, on Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich and Cologne. He has appeared on many major opera stages of the world, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, at the Semperoper in Dresden, at the Paris Opera and at numerous festivals. His roles were varied, but the role of Papageno in The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was his favorite, which he sang about 300 times. He also appeared in numerous concert halls under renowned conductors.

Ludwig Baumann is not only an opera singer, but also an interpreter of folk songs and folk music. So he applied in 1986 with the song home is ... the first Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1986, but did not reach the song the final. It has also been recorded by other artists ( such as Günter Wewel ).

1994 stopped a stage accident, the operatic career Baumann. He then retired to the estate Immling between Bad Endorf and Halfing in Chiemgau. Thither he led his animals from the family farm in Aising near Rosenheim. Meanwhile, there live more than 100 horses and donkeys, goats, sheep, cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, and pot-bellied pigs.

From Good Immling from organized Baumann since 1994 workshops and concerts in Rosenheim and finally called in 1997 in the riding hall of his estate, the " International Music Festival in Chiemgau Good Immling " to life, taking place annually since then and opera lovers attracted to Chiemsee. Here Baumann staged operas for children (eg Mozart Zauberflöt ) and for adults ( eg, " The Bartered Bride "). Meanwhile Baumann also sings back to gala concerts.
