Luigi del Gallo Roccagiovine

Luigi del Gallo, Marchese di Roccagiovine ( born July 12, 1922 in Rome, † May 12, 2011 ) was a Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Luigi del Gallo Roccagiovine was the third of four children of the Marquis Alessandro del Gallo Roccagiovine and his wife Maria Rosaria Lepri. After studying Catholic theology and philosophy he received on 19 March 1950 in Rome the priesthood. He was responsible for the personal visits of the Pope, later he had until the reform of the Roman Curia 1968 in the office of the Pontifical Family vestiarius (wardrobe master ) holds.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 22 December 1983 as Titular Bishop of Camplum and donated it on 6 January next year in St. Peter's episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Eduardo Martínez Somalo, Substitute of the Vatican Secretariat of State, and Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.

Luigi del Gallo Roccagiovine was in the Pontifical Council for the Laity 1982-1997 Apostolic Delegate for Catholic Scouts. He was spiritual director of the Roman Church of the Congregation of Divine degli Operai Pietà and Assessor of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem as well as board member of the Collegio ARALDICO.

In 1997, John Paul II to be age-related resignation. He lived in the Palazzo del Gallo di Roccagiovine, built in 1520 by Baldassare Peruzzi, the Forum of Trajan.
