Luís Carreira

Luís Filipe Carreira de Sousa ( born December 31, 1976 in Lisbon, † November 15, 2012 in Macau) was a Portuguese motorcycle racer.

Luís Carreira was an experienced road racer and participated in numerous road races in part, including the Isle of Man TT and the North West 200 He also won in his career, four times the champion title in the Superstock 1000 championship in his home country.

In the 2008 season he started with a wildcard on a Suzuki GSX- R1000 in the running of the Superbike World Championship in Portimao, but was able to reach any points ranks.

Carreira crashed on 15 November 2012 at qualifying for the Macau Grand Prix deadly on the Guia Circuit. He rebounded with his Suzuki from Team Benimoto Suzuki Cetelem in the Pescadores curve without external influence against the guard rail and died a short time later at the Hospital Conde de São Januário his injuries.
