Luis María Estrada Paetau

Luis María Estrada Paetau OP ( born May 26, 1935 in Guatemala City; † 25 March 2011) was a Guatemalan religious clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop.

Life

Estrada Paetau joined the Congregation of the Dominicans and received on 26 March 1961, the ordination.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 30 November 1970 Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration El Petén in Guatemala. On October 27, 1977, he was called by Pope Paul VI. appointed Titular Bishop of Regiae and appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration of Izabal. The episcopal consecration on December 12, 1977 Archbishop Emanuele Gerada donated to him, nuncio in Guatemala; Co-consecrators were James Richard Ham MM, Auxiliary Bishop of Guatemala, and Rodolfo Quezada Toruño, Coadjutor Bishop in Zacapa. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 12 March 1988 Episcopal Vicar of the Vicariate Apostolic of Izabal.

His resignation was accepted on 12 June 2004.
