Luke Dimech

Luke Dimech ( born January 11, 1977 in Valletta) is a Maltese footballer. Currently, the defender for FC Valletta and the Maltese national team is playing.

Club career

His career began in the 1995/96 season at the Sliema Wanderers. This season was equal Maltese champion with the club. During his time in Sliema he was able to establish itself in the national team. In 2002 he went to Dublin at the Shamrock Rovers, with whom he could reach the final of the Irish Cup. Only a year later he returned to Malta to FC Birkirkara. However, in the summer of 2003 he moved abroad again, this time to Mansfield Town to England. At the end of the season 2004/ 05 he left Mansfield Town and moved within England to Chester City. In the summer of 2006, he returned to his homeland where he could win with his new club FC Marsaxlokk his second Maltese title. After only one season, he went at the beginning of the 2007/ 08 return to England, this time to Macclesfield Town. Since the 2008/ 09 season, he stands in his home the 2008 champion, FC Valletta, under contract.

National team career
