Luke Steele (musician)

Luke James Steele ( born December 13, 1979 in Perth, Western Australia ) is the lead singer and songwriter of the alternative rock band The Sleepy Jackson. Steele is also a member of the pop duo Empire of the Sun.

Life

Steele belongs to a musical family. Steele's father Rick is a blues guitarist and harmonica player. Steele has three siblings Katy, Jake and Jesse. In 2007 he founded the Empire of the Sun.

Steele has since 2006 engaged to Jodi, who also belonged to the band The Sleepy Jackson. In October 2008, their first child, a daughter, was born.
