Luke Wilkshire

Luke Wilkshire ( born October 2, 1981 in Wollongong, New South Wales) is an Australian football player.

Career

1998 Luke Wilkshire left Australia and went to England, where he was inducted into the young driver program of the first division club FC Middlesbrough. From 2000, he played occasionally for the Premier League team. When he was in the third year in a row did not make it to the root formation, he joined shortly after the start of the 2003/04 season for Bristol City in the third division, to come to regular operations.

In its Middlesbrough - time, he also played for the Australian U20, later in the U23 Olympic team in the country. Since 2004 he is a member of the senior team. Luke Wilkshire was in the squad of Australia for the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany and came there, even though he had only played nine games before the tournament, two appearances.

After the World Cup tournament Wilkshire moved to Dutch club FC Twente, where he signed a contract until 2009.

On 26 August 2008 he moved to Russia to FK Dynamo Moscow for a transfer fee of 6 million euros.

With Australia, he qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, where his team already eliminated in the first round.
