Lundwood

Lund Wood is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire. The village was built around the ruins of Monk Bretton Priory. The name comes from the Old Norse Lund Wood lundr = sacred grove and the Icelandic wud = buried.

Documentation to Phoenix

The TV station Phoenix sent a documentary about the priest James McCatskill and his attempts to the inhabitants of Lund Wood back in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene lure. It was called believers urgently sought - The parish GmbH and originally ran on the British Channel 4 television under the name Priest Idol. The actions were very successful, but the church was almost completely destroyed by fire. The remaining parts were demolished; it is a new church to be built.
