LunÃk IX
Luník IX is a district of Košice, Košice II in Okres in eastern Slovakia west of downtown.
History
The housing estate was built from 1981 to 1989 and in 1990 became an independent district of Košice. Luník IX applies as an object lesson as to the ghettoization of Roma in Central and Eastern Europe. At the end of the 1980s, the Roma were resettled from Kosice to Luník IX. Members of the middle class left back shortly the housing estate and this developed into a ghetto poverty.
