Lurene Tuttle

Lurene Tuttle (born 29 August 1907 in Pleasant Lake, Indiana; † 28 May 1986 as Encino, California ) was an American actress.

Life

Lurene Tuules career began with radio shows such as The Adventures of Sam Spade, in addition, she performed at the theater. Only occasionally she appeared in films. Only in the late 1940s, her film and television appearances began to get the ball rolling. The plump, little actress with red hair appeared in numerous films and television series, and often embodied maternal, something pompous figures. Among her best-known films include Niagara with Marilyn Monroe as psychopathic nanny, a small appearance in Psycho as a woman of the police chief and as a mother of Jack Lemmon in The Fortune Cookie. In addition, it was also successful on TV, for her role in the sitcom Julia, she received an Emmy nomination.

Lurene Tuttle was honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with two stars in the categories of television and radio. She was the wife of actor Melville Ruick and the mother of actress and singer Barbara Ruick, and the grandmother of singer and composer Joseph Williams.
