Lusine Zakaryan

Lussine Sakarjan (Armenian Լուսինե Զաքարյան, Russian Лусинэ Закарян, maiden name: Светлана Абетовна Закарян, born June 1, 1937 in Achaltsiche, Georgian SSR; † 30 December 1992, Yerevan ) was a Soviet- Armenian singer, the soprano vocal range.

Life

Lussine Sakarjan spent her childhood in the Samtskhe - Javakheti province südgeorgischen. In 1952 she moved with her family over the Armenian Yerevan, where she received a musical education. In 1957 she entered the Conservatory of Yerevan; quickly fell to her singing talent.

Between 1970 and 1983 Sakarjan soloist was with the Symphony Orchestra of the Armenian Radio and Television. She was also a member of the choir at the seat of the Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Cathedral of Etchmiadzin.

Besides opera roles included Sakarjans repertoire Armenian folk music and religious songs. They contributed to the rebirth of the spiritual songs of the Armenian Church. Their interpretations spanned an arc of the traditional folk art of spiritual liturgy.

Health complaints continued her artistic career to a premature end. After a series of illnesses she died on 30 December 1992. She was buried in the St. Gayane Church Cemetery in Echmiadzin.
