Lustmord

Brian Williams ( born January 9, 1964) is a Welsh Industrial and Dark Ambient musician who is best known for his music project Lustmord.

Williams' style is characterized by dark sound collages and monotonous, machine-like rhythms. Singing in the true sense is not used. This often more or less processed speech samples are used.

History

At the age of 16 or 17 years, Williams was first introduced to the films of Kenneth Anger in contact, of which he was fascinated. These were among the influences that drove him to their own activities.

Williams, a trained sound engineer began his musical career in the early 1980 by storming the stage at concerts of other bands between the pre - and the main group and as long as the existing instruments worked, until the security man ended his appearance. These actions earned him soon contact to industrial bands like SPK and Throbbing Gristle. With the former, there was a closer cooperation, both live and in the studio.

The first Lustmord album appeared in 1982. Involved in the movie were John Balance of Coil and Nigel Ayers of Nocturnal Emissions. Two years later, in 1984, followed by " Paradise Disowned ", a kind of concept album for the Williams field recordings in various underground / overseas locations ( inter alia, in the crypt of the Cathedral of Chartres, a slaughterhouse, and on the ocean floor ) in the recording studio reworked.

In the coming years, Williams did not pursue their own projects, but also worked as a sound engineer and sound designer with a variety of sizes from the industrial environment together, including Current 93, Nurse With Wound, SPK, Chris & Cosey and Graeme Revell.

From 1990, then independent Lustmord albums reappeared. The mid 1990s moved Williams to California to Graeme Revell appeared on soundtracks for films such as Street Fighter - To support the decisive battle, The Crow or Spawn. In parallel, he drives various side projects forward, including " Terror Against Terror ", " Arecibo " and " Isolrubin BK ".

In addition, he published in 1995 together with Robert Rich, the acclaimed music critics album " Stalker" and 2006, together with The Melvins " Pigs of the Roman Empire".

The first live performance by Lustmord in 25 years on June 6, 2006 as part of an exhibition for the 40th anniversary of the Church of Satan. The concert was released later that year on the album " Rising".
