Lyriel
Lyriel is a folk metal band that was founded in the fall of 2003 in Gummersbach.
Style
The septet describes his music as " Dark Romantic Celtic Rock ". Lyriel play ballads in the medieval style, to hard rock tracks with classical and folk elements. They in a sense move in a triangle between classical folk music, Nightwish and Blackmore 's Night.
History
The cast remained unchanged from the signing of the contract until 2008. Lyriel were already visible in the opening act of Elis, Visions of Atlantis, Regicide, Xandria, Schandmaul, Corvus Corax, Xavier Rudd, Oomph, Schelmish, Korpiklaani and Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
In 2005, the band Elis and Visions of Atlantis on tour through Germany, Austria and Belgium. In February 2006, played Lyriel on the "Romantic Darkness Tour" with Regicide and Xandria. In addition Lyriel on the Celtic Rock Open Air played on 15 July 2005 at Castle Access stone. From this appearance a video was created.
In September 2008, the previous drummer left the band for personal reasons and was replaced by Marcus " Fidi " Fidorra. Fidorra supported the band in 2005 while on tour with the band Elis.
Albums
The first album "Prison World " was released on 17 January 2005. Especially on this album is among other things the song " Lind e - huil " which The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien is sung in Sindarin, the language of the elves in the factory. The Sonic Seducer compared the style of the album with Blackmore 's Night.
On 15 December 2005, the DVD was released "Live at Castle Access stone ", which contains recordings of 3 Celtic Rock Open Air at Castle Access stone at Herborn.
The second studio album " Autumn Tales" hit stores on September 29, 2006. It contains 14 tracks that continue the well-known style, including a cover version of Hijo de la luna. The title "My Favourite Dream", recorded together with Sabine Dünser of Elis, was praised by the music press as one of the harder songs on this album.
The third album "Paranoid Circus" was presented on 22 November 2009 at a release party concert at the MTC in Cologne the public. It was a limited edition be purchased with two bonus track. The voice actor Simon Hunter, best known as the German hard voice of Josh Hartnett and Heath Ledger, as well as a performer of audiobooks, there speaks the introduction and as an intermediate passage in the middle of the album an excerpt from the short story The Wolf of Hermann Hesse. While German and Austrian critics agreed that the album of high musical quality, among other things, lack of dynamism and originality were criticized.
