Lyudmila Chernykh

Lyudmila Ivanovna Chernykh (Russian Людмила Ивановна Черных, scientific transliteration Lyudmila Ivanovna Cernych, English spelling: Lyudmila Ivanovna Chernykh, born June 13, 1935 in Shuya, Ivanovo ) is a Russian astronomer.

In 1959 she completed her studies at the State Pedagogical University of Irkutsk. Subsequently, she worked until 1963 in a laboratory for time and frequency measurements in the All - Union Research Institute of Physico - technical and radio technical measurements in Irkutsk, where it made astrometric observations for the " Time Service ". From 1964 to 1998 she was a research assistant at the Institute of Theoretical Astronomy at the Soviet / Russian Academy of Sciences and worked at the Crimean Observatory. Here she met her future husband, Nikolai Stepanovich Chernykh astronomers who know, with whom she worked.

LITschernych discovered 268 asteroids, including ( 1772) Gagarin, ( 2807 ) Karl Marx ( 3147 ) Samantha and the Apollo asteroid ( 2212 ) Hephaistos.

In honor of the couple Chernykh the asteroid ( 2325 ) Chernykh was named.
