Autópálya M15 (Hungarian for, highway M15 ') is still a two-lane highway in Hungary. It connects the Hungarian with Slovak motorway network.

Course

The highway branches off at Mosonmagyaróvár from the M1 motorway, which then continues from Budapest to the Austrian border and as A4 to Vienna. They reached the Slovak border west of the town Rajka where it binds to the Slovak motorway D2 via Bratislava to the Czech border and in due course as Dálnice 2 (D2) continue to Brno ( Brno). The M15 is an important transit link in spite of their small length of 14 kilometers. It is used mainly in travel between East Germany and Lake Balaton, but also by many trucks in the international long-distance freight traffic between Western Europe and South-Eastern Europe, as many take a detour through the Czech Republic and Slovakia to bypass the higher highway tolls in Germany and Austria.

The M15 has so far completed just one lane. The planning for the two-lane expansion should be completed by December 2012. With completion of construction is expected in 2015.
