Maastricht Academy of Music

The Conservatorium Maastricht in Maastricht is one of the nine conservatoires in the Netherlands. It is a Department of the State Hogeschool Zuyd ( University South) in the Bachelor's degree programs since 2001. At the conservatory learn about 600 students, of which more than half from abroad. The school has approximately 130 employees.

Importance

The Conservatory offers training in the areas of music of the European classical music, jazz, musical composition and opera, as well as a music teacher. These courses can be described as a four-year bachelor's degree or as a two-year Master's degree graduate (the latter from 2009 together with the University of Maastricht). To discuss, however, many tests can (including the final exam ) are stored also in English, French or German, for the teaching profession only in Dutch.

The Conservatorium Maastricht works together with the other two faculties of the Hogeschool Zuyd, the Toneelacademie Maastricht ( Academy of Performing Arts) and the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht ( Academy of Fine Arts) as well as with the faculty of art and culture of the Universiteit Maastricht. In the area of ​​post-graduate studies (Master) founded the Conservatory of Music in cooperation with the privately operated Fontys Conservatorium several years, the Zuid Nederlandse Hogeschool voor Muziek ago ( Southern Netherlands Academy of Music ).

In addition, there are exchange partnerships with several other European universities, such as the Cologne University of Music, the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.
