Macedonia is a city in Summit County, Ohio, United States. In the 2000 census, the town had 9,224 inhabitants. Macedonia is part of the metropolitan area of Akron.

History

The first white settlers in the area was at the beginning of the 19th century, Henry Woods. Originally the settlement was called The Corner. Allegedly led a Bible quote from the Book of Acts 16, 9, "Come over to Macedonia and help us!" To the current name.
