Maciowakrze

Maciowakrze ( German Matzkirch ) is a village in the Polish Opole Voivodeship. It is in the southern part of the powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski near the border with the Czech Republic and belongs to the rural community Pawłowiczki.

The 858 -acre area is located in the southwestern part of Poland and to the west of Upper Silesia. For Maciowakrze the cultivation of agricultural products (cereals 76.7%, potatoes 2%, 10% sugar beet, beet 10 %) were the main source of income.

Geography

Maciowakrze bordered to the south on the town Baborów ( Bauerwitz ). West of Maciowakrze is Dobrosławice (Honorary height). The boundary thence from Chaussee Bauerwitz Honor height as well as from the railway crossing. To the north are the villages Dobieszów ( Dobischau ) and Radoszowy ( Radoschau ). Here we find four small groves. Along the border to Radoszowy runs an unnamed watercourse. It ends as a right tributary of the " Potok Cisek ". The eastern border is formed by the villages of Koza ( Heinrichsdorf ) and Szczyty ( until 1936 Tscheidt, 1936-1945 Maxwaldau - see: Max Waldau ).

History

From numerous documents can be concluded that the village Matzkirch was a branch of German settlers in the Slavic area. The first reference to Matzkirch date from the year 1223, as Bishop of Wrocław Lorenz, the Church has invested in Matzkirch with the tithe of Gogolin.

On March 19, 1264 in Breslau Bishop Tomas II allowed the pooling of the two churches in Matzkirch and Stanice under the patronage of the monastery in Rudy. 1272 was the first mention of a mayor ( Scholtisei ) what the documents show a Schulz family.

On April 26, 1316, the village received the long desired Duke Duke law by Władysław. 1408 issued Konrad von Cosel the " poor people of Matzkirch " the work on its festivals and outworks against one years money from 3 ½ marks. 1587 gave the abbot Michael Kretschmar Balenga the charter to operate an inn, which existed until the year 1808.

On August 25, 1652 under the direction of Abbot Andreas Emanuel Pospeli of Rauden newly built wooden church shot the Saint Florian of Lorch was ordained. From 1728 the first mention of a forge, operated by a Mr. Dzwiza. 1752-1754 by the building of the first mill by Raudener monks. 1773 present baroque church was built. Died in 1855 at Gut Tscheidt the poet Max Waldau.

On January 1, 1889, the volunteer fire brigade was founded by Matzkirch. In April 1889, the railway line wholesale Neukirch - Bauerwitz was opened and at the same time the first post office in Matzkirch in the house of the peasant extract Franz Waluga. In 1935, Joseph Piosczyk took over the post office.

In the Upper Silesian plebiscite on March 20, 1921 voted in Matzkirch 538 people to remain part of the German Reich and 107 for connection to Poland - Matzkirch remained in Germany or the province of Upper Silesia in the Weimar Republic. On October 6, 1923, the village was connected to the power grid. At the 1842 -built dual-class school teachers Venantius Schirmeisen have taught ( since 1923 ), Gerhard Alscher (since 1933) and the teacher Gertrud Kothe (since 1934). In January 1926 a sports club was founded and in the same year 1926 the estate was purchased by the State Matzkirch sold a year later to the settlement enterprise " landscape".

In 1945 the town was part of Poland as Maciowakrze and on September 3, 1946 was the first instruction in the Polish language by the teacher Andrzej and Helena Kocman.

1970 was the volunteer fire department Maciowakrze a new fire station. The fire brigade leader was Hubert Kubanek and his deputy Josef Kurka. On March 7, 1983, was a major fire in Maciowakrze. In the afternoon, the St. Florian's Church began to burn.

In 1996 the railway ( passenger transport ) between Kędzierzyn -Koźle and Baborów was adjusted. There is only sporadically instead of freight.

On March 22, died in 2001 at the age of 91 years Father Hyacinth Theodor Mende, who had been ordained a priest on 16 March 1940 in Prince bei Passau and had spent his twilight years since 1996 in Steinfeld Salvatorianer Monastery.
